Habakkuk 2 – April 26 – Discussion Questions:

  1. What did God stir in your heart as you listened this morning?
  2. What makes waiting on God so difficult for us?  What are some suggestions you might offer that would help us wait patiently?

  1. What are some “false beliefs” that people take captive that keep them from living by faith?
  2. Scott Shared 4 aspects of walking by faith; Faith is a gift, Faith is a muscle, faith has distractions, and Faith is a group Sport.  Which one of those statements do you wrestle with the most? Share how it makes you wrestle?
  3. How does walking by faith and waiting patiently go together in your mind?
  4. Thinking about the week to come, what are some of your thoughts, needs, hopes and prayer requests?

April 5

  • 1. What did God stir in your heart as you listened this morning?
  • 2. As Christ Followers our desire is to be like Jesus! What are you learning during this time that you may have had “tied- up” that Jesus is asking you for?
  • 3. This week is called holy week there was a crowd from Galilee that Jesus met a palm Sunday in a crowd from Judea the Jesus met Jesus on Good Friday. Why do you think there’s a difference in motivation of these two groups? Have you ever found yourself with those motivations?
  • 4. What are some ways that you’ve heard of people being the church in the midst of this pandemic? What might God be calling us to do as a congregation?
  • 5. When you hear the word lament what does that mean to you? Have you ever spent time in that place?
  • 6. When you think of holy week, Palm Sunday, Maunday Thursday, Good Friday, Easter, without the ability to gather corporately, what might God be able to teach you this week that he hasn’t been able in years past?
  • 7. What are the prayer needs that have arisen in your life and world this week that you can share with the group?

  3. God called the children of Israel to obey the directions for the Passover as a “lasting ordinance” in other words something they would do each year or regularly. What do you think is something that might come out of this experience that will become a new ritual, celebration or way of life for you and or your family?
  4. What would you like your children/grandchildren to learn from you during this time?
  5. What are you grateful for this morning? What praises might you offer to God?
  6. Who are the people that you want to encourage? How might you best encourage them during this time?

  1. What are you grateful for this morning? What praises might you offer to God?
  2. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Keeping in mind the promises of God, what are the things that you will be praying for?
