Questions for May 3rd:

  1. What questions are you wrestling with from the scripture and message this morning?
  2. What message was God trying to send when he told the priests “you were responsible for anything that goes wrong in the sanctuary, and you are responsible for anything wrong in your service as a priest?”  What is the application for us today?
  3. God says that the priest quote you will take charge of all the holy things in the altar so that there will no longer be anger against the people of Israel. What are the truths that this verse shares with us today?
  4. We are your Takeaways about the tithe from these passages
  5. What is your understanding of clean versus unclean? Does it have to do with Sin or something totally different? Based on our understanding, could Jesus ever have been “unclean”?
  6. Are there ways for us to be clean or unclean today. In the wilderness, they sprinkled water and ashes on themselves on the third and seventh day. What do we do to move from unclean to clean today?

April 26th

  1. What questions are you wrestling with from the scripture and message this morning?
  2. Why did God pick Eli Azar Aaron son instead of the high priest, airing himself to deal with Korach’s fire pans?
  3. Moses said anger has gone out from God. Does God create this kind of calamity? Compare your thoughts with Isaiah 45:7. Does God still do this today?
  4. What do you think was going through Aaron’s mind as he was getting the fire pan to make atonement? What other parallels between this story and the story of Christ and our redemption do you draw from the story?
  5. God gave two signs to the people in this chapter. First, he gave them bronze coverings for the altar, and secondly, the budded rod of Aaron. What signs has God given us? Has God given you?
  6. In verse 27 that people were afraid to approach God did they have reason for this? Are their right ways to approach God? What keeps us from approaching him in ways he does not desire?

  2. How would you describe the differences in worship in an empire and worship in a Kingdom?
  3. How do you personally understand the difference between intentional and unintentional wrongdoing? Are there areas in life where you may overlook “unintentional” mistakes? How should those be handled?
  4. What does the punishment for the Sabbath breaker (vv. 32–36) stir in you? How would you explain the fairness (or difficulty) of the punishment described?
  5. In what ways can a community support accountability without becoming judgmental?
  6. What is one takeaway from this chapter that feels most relevant today?

  1. What questions came up to you today as we read the scripture and heard in the teaching?
  2. What parallels do you find in Numbers 14 and the Easter story?
  3. Caleb and Joshua had an Easter mindset faith over fear. We are on the other side of Easter yet struggle often with fear over faith. What personal example might you share of fear of faith? 
  4. What accommodations help you live with an Easter mindset?
  5. In Numbers 14, the people’s rebellion leads to consequences (wandering in the wilderness). Does Easter eliminate consequences?
  6. What are the similarities and differences between Moses’ intercession and Jesus’ ongoing work for believers?
