Questions-Exodus 40 November 9 th :

  1. What has God taught you this week?
  2. What questions came up for you today from the teaching or the Text?
  3. Israel’s Journey through Exodus begins in slavery in Egypt and ends with God dwelling
    among them. What are your takeaways from this story? How does it relate to our
    journey? And how would you share these truths with someone else?
  4. The scripture says the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. Is this what fills us today?
    What does that mean in our lives?
  5. What are your thoughts about the explanation of the word work? Especially as it relates
    to service and worship.
  6. How do you see God move Today? When do you know it’s time to move on?
  7. How can we be praying for you this week?

November 2nd

Questions-Exodus 39 November 2 nd :

  1. What has God taught you this week?
  2. What questions came up for you today from the teaching or the Text?
  3. Today we take a laid-back view of church dress (i.e. people in shorts and preachers and
    jeans) how do we square this with the detail God gave us an Exodus 39?
  4. What are your thoughts about what we read in Exodus 39 when it comes to Priestly
    garments as compared to what we read in Pagan Christianity. (As Christianity became
    institutionalized (especially after Constantine in the 4th century), leaders began
    adopting Roman imperial dress to show authority and status. Over time, this evolved
    into clerical vestments — robes, collars, and other garments — that were borrowed from
    pagan and imperial customs, not biblical mandates)
  5. In verse 43 we read that Moses inspected the work and saw they had done it just as the
    Lord had commanded so Moses blessed them. What form do you think this blessing
    took? What does this teach us that God’s blessing is in response to?
  6. Could this kind of leadership, service, building, occur in the church today? Tell us why
    you think so?

  1. What has God taught you this week?
  2. What questions came up for you from the text and or teaching?
  3. What are we the worshipers supposed to get from worship? Where does this
    come from tradition, teaching, or the scripture?
  4. What parallels can we draw between the tabernacle and how we structure
    our worship “spaces “or services today?
  5. What is meant by verse eight that the women donated their bronze mirrors to
    make the basin? Why did we not hear about this in God’s instructions?
  6. How might worship look different if we all viewed it as something we build
    together rather than just attend?
  7. How can we be praying for you this week?

October 19th

Questions for October 19 th :

  1. What has got done this week that utterly surprised you?
  2. What questions came up for you from the text and or teaching
  3. In Exodus 25 God gave Moses the directions for the Tabernacle in here in
    chapter 37 we see them carried out. What type of direction have you been
    taught to carry out and worship?
  4. God is the object of our worship. How did he ensure that the articles in the
    tabernacle would not become so for the Israelites? And what have become
    opposites of worship in our culture today?
  5. Most of the articles we read about today were made of Arcadia wood
    covered with gold. Why do you think the atonement cover and the menorah
    were made of pure gold? Does this symbolize anything?
  6. Scott mentioned there might be something to learn from the placement of
    these articles in the holy place. What are your thoughts about this, especially
    when it comes to the provision and the power of God and prayer?

  1. How has God spoken to you this week?
  2. What questions came up for you from the text and or teaching?
  3. In Hebrew thought, work (avodah) can mean both “labor” and “worship.”
    How does this passage blur the line between the two?
  4. Moses had to stop the people from Giving. Have you ever been a part of
    something like that? What might this teach us?
  5. The same Hebrew terms in Exodus 36 describe God’s creative power in
    Proverbs 3:19–20. How might this parallel suggest that building the
    Tabernacle reflects creation itself?
  6. What does this chapter teach us about our own personal preparation as the
    temple of God?
