    the law? And Do you think we should read the law as if it applies to us today or does Christ do
    away with the law?
  4. Scott shared with us two Hebrew words Misphat which is translated laws, ordinances, or
    judgments, And Tzedeck which is translated, righteous or righteousness. How might these words
    be important to our understanding of the law? 
  5. Which of the laws we read today stood out to you as the strangest and what do you think God is
    teaching through it?
  6. If you had to look over this chapter and say there was an overarching message, what might it be?

    and how would you read it or understand it as wedding language?
  4. What does God mean in verse five that he has a jealous God punishing the children for
    the son of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate him but
    showing love to 1000 generations of those who love him and keep his Commandments
  5. What does Moses mean in verse 20 when he says “do not be afraid God has come to test
    you so that the fear of God will be with you to keep you from sinning.

Questions for May 18, 2025:

  1. How is God been working in your life this week? Where have you seen him moving?
  2. What questions came up for you from the text and the teaching?
  3. Scott spoke about the difference between Empire controlled by fear and Kingdom which
    is about trust and shalom. Where do you see these two ways of life clashing in the
    Israelites journey so far?
  4. What are the similarities of the test at Mara which we looked at last Sunday and the test
    today? What are the differences? What are we to learn from each?
  5. In verse eight Moses says who are we? You are not grumbling against us but against the
    Lord he seems to be pointing out a big problem in Psalm 78. We find out that the
    Israelites were asking for food they desired not food they needed. How might this change
    our takeaways from this story how do we see ourselves in this story?
