  2. The Nazarite vow was voluntary and time bound. How does that compare with the voluntary practices many Christians adopt during Lent
  3. If you were to design a “modern Nazirite vow” for the season of Lent, what would it include — and why?
  4. What is one area of your life where God might be inviting you to greater intentional dedication during this season?
  5. What do you think was the purpose of making the Nazirite vow visible to others? How does that compare with Jesus’ teaching about fasting in Matthew 6:16–18? And how can temporary disciplines (like a Nazirite vow or Lenten fast) lead to lasting spiritual change?

  1. What questions came up to you today as we read the scripture and heard in the teaching?
  2. Tzara’at is a skin disease caused for a spiritual reason.  Do you think such thing exist today?  Why or why not?
  3. Why do you think God wanted these people to put out of the camp? What did it say to the person that was put out? What would it say to the people that were still in the camp?
  4. Does God treat the sin of adultery and that of jealousy differently? If so, why do you think so? What is the difference between God being a jealous God and a man who bears jealousy in this passage?
  5. In verse 27 the woman will become a curse among her people. What do you believe that means? Does the man become a curse if his jealousy is found to be on warranted? 
  6. What are the takeaways for us in America today from these verses?

  4. God put boundaries in place for the Israelite’s roles; Have you ever ignored boundaries and paid the price? What did that teach you?
  5. The Israelites took down the tabernacle moved it and set it up again each time they moved, what might this teach us about how we move throughout our day, week, month or year?
  6. If God were rearranging your life right now, what do you think He’d move closer to the center—and what might He ask you to release?

  5. God says that his people were his slaves. Paul calls us bond slaves
    of Christ. How does that merge with the fact that it was for
    freedom that Christ has set us free?
