Good Morning Friends,
Many of you may be off today for the 4th holiday or even traveling for the weekend. If that is the case, have a great time and stay safe! If you are here this weekend, join us on Sunday morning as we finish up our look at the life of Moses. It will be eye opening!
In Exodus 3 we continue to read these words
7 The LORD said, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. 8 So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey—the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. 9 And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them. 10 So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.”
11 But Moses said to God, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?”
God had a job for Moses but he did not feel able to do it! God was looking to partner with Moses to set his people free!
God wants to partner with you to set people free also. People all around us are trapped in a way of life that does not embrace the FREEDOM that God won for us. Helping people understand freedom is NOT a mental challenge, it is not about seeking to change thinking….but FREEDOM is about behavior, lifestyle. SO, God is calling those of us who claim the name to Christ to LIVE FREE LIVES. It is for Freedom that Christ has set us FREE….but for many that is very hard to do, so we have change the focus on behavior to a focus on ideological belief……BECAUSE THE CHRISTIAN LIFE IS HARD TO LIVE. But when you think that, remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 11:
28-30″Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
He will show you HOW TO DO IT! Have a GREAT INCARNATIONAL WEEKEND!

Good Morning Friends,
So Moses ran to the wilderness as he was afraid for his life and there one day he ran into a bush that was burning….the scripture describes it this way:
1 Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the desert and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. 2 There the angel of the LORD appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. 3 So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight—why the bush does not burn up.”
4 When the LORD saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!”
And Moses said, “Here I am.”
5 “Do not come any closer,” God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.”
You ever been on Holy Ground? Did you take your shoes off? Where would you find holy ground? One of the challenges that we have in 20th century America is to wrestle with our belief that there are holy places, like churches, chapels, etc. and then secular places like bars, clubs, etc.
The truth is that holy ground is found in the presence of God. In that way we are ALWAYS on holy ground, we just do not recognize or acknowledge it. You read in the scripture this morning, Moses had to NOTICE the bush….and as he walked toward it, God spoke to him.
So are you able to see God working in your journey today? Can you see him or are you too busy to notice? Slow down and notice the bushes that are burning in your world….walk toward them and listen for the voice of God. Have a great day and take off your shoes for you are standing on holy ground!

Good Evening Friends,
You might be getting this in the morning but I am writing it on Wednesday Night. Let’s keep looking at the life of Moses. We saw the other day how his parents hid him in a basket and then the Pharaoh’s daughter found him. Moses was raised by the Egyptians and became royalty, but he never forgot that he was a Jew. In Exodus chapter 2 we read this account:
11 One day, after Moses had grown up, he went out to where his own people were and watched them at their hard labor. He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his own people. 12 Glancing this way and that and seeing no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.
Moses lost control, he killed a man. If that wasn’t bad enough…. HE HID HIM IN THE SAND! Why do we hide things that we have done? What are we hiding right now? Want to hear from God? Starts by being honest with him. Confess…tell God what he already knows! Spend some time with God in this way today. Remember, perfect freedom comes with total vulnerability! Have a great day and let’s talk again in the AM.
